Type gone mad? At first glance it

may look like a keyboard has exploded

across this shelf, but actually this is

superbly organized and information

design at its very best.

Wonksite Studio was commissioned to

create a wallpaper background for a

design studio. The most interesting and

adaptable solution was a typographic

treatment that personifies the designers

and their interests.

A closer look

Every element of type detail is

considered on a micro and macro

level. Close up, it has fascinating

detail, and from afar, it creates a

stunning texture.

The range of typefaces looks

extensive, but in fact there aren’t as

many as it may seem. Instead scale,

rotation, weights, and layout help

give the piece a very ragged, busy,

and maximalist feel.
