An identity and access management framework does not consist of software that you install and start running. It is a set of processes for which you happen to use software and hardware as support. An IAM platform doesn’t run the business; it augments the security, enablement, and compliance of your business processes and systems. The more these components work together (integrate), the more efficient and accurate the results will be. There are many fringe benefits as well, as we’ve been discussing. Compliance used to be one of these fringe benefits, but it has migrated to being an actual primary driver.
