During the keynote address at the World Wide Developer’s Conference in June 2013, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced to a sea of rabid coders that the company had paid more than $10 billion to developers just like them since 2008. Half of that had come in the past year. In that same time period, there were more than 50 billion downloads from the iOS App Store.
With figures like that, it can seem like a no-brainer to start your mobile development with the “i” platform of devices. The reality, unfortunately, can seem much trickier to independent dreamers thinking of the next mobile phenomenon.
