Chapter 8. Creating Libraries and Components

As explained in the preceding chapters, the Femtoduino design relies on devices in the eagle-book.lbr library. EAGLE provides thousands more devices for your use, but even these might not be sufficient. Maybe you need to insert old or rare components into your design. Or maybe your company has a new device that needs to be made available through EAGLE. In either case, you’ll need to create a new library with new components. This chapter explains how to do this.

The goal of this chapter is to create a new library called example-lib.lbr. By the end of this chapter, it will contain three devices:

SIMPLE-TQFP—A 16-pin integrated circuit with one gate and a thin quad flat pack (TQFP) package
