The most challenging aspect of any online learning project, especially a first one, is where to begin. The framework for understanding a learning problem, defining it, making design choices, and committing to those choices is called the instructional system design (ISD) process. It is widely followed in classroom instruction and becomes even more critical to e-learning projects.
