Preparing Still Menus
The Workflow
Still menus are menus that contain a background image and an overlay.
The background may contain several flattened layers, designed within Adobe’s Photoshop application, while the overlay will be either a simple overlay or an advanced overlay.
A simple overlay is a black-and-white image on a single layer; an advanced overlay uses either four gray tones, or four color tones, such as white, blue, red, and black. It is the job of the overlay to map through the use of colors the exact shape and placement of a highlight.
