Appendix A offers a summary of acronyms and terms used throughout this book. Most of these terms are common in the SCADA systems industry.
Alarm Condition in the field in which a fault or an undesirable situation has occurred; requires operator intervention.
Alias Tag Typically the hardware reference for a program point in a controller program; can also refer to another point in the controller program, serving as an indirect reference.
Analog Data Information that can have any number of values between two limits; the limits define the range of the analog value.
