Supplier Networking

Many books have been written on the subject of supplier networking, and our intention is to boil the subject down to some bare essentials. Supplier networking is an easy concept to discuss, but an extremely difficult topic to navigate. In our case, we knew that our project had some quite unique characteristics, and it was up to us to determine how we could best leverage those project characteristics in the supply chain. We also had some fairly grandiose ideas, like we should be able to START with a supply-chain network that resembled Boeing’s or Toyota’s. Well, as you can imagine, that was truly a dumb idea.
