Creating an Entire Web Page with SVG

In this chapter, I introduce you to the concept of using SVG images as part of the graphics “furniture” of HTML or XHTML Web pages. I also want you to consider that SVG can be potentially a “single language” Web authoring package. In other words, you can create Web sites only with SVG, or primarily using SVG.

At first sight, it might seem odd superficially to use a graphics technology to create Web pages when such a significant part of the content of Web pages is text based. This chapter looks realistically at the practicalities of using SVG as a one-stop Web authoring technology.
