About the Authors
Juliette Cezzar is the director of the
BFA Communication Design and BFA
Design & Technology programs at
Parsons the New School for Design
in New York City. She established her
small studio, e.a.d., in 2005. While
books anchor the practice, her work
has spanned a variety of media
for clients such as the Metropolitan
Museum of Art, RES magazine,
the Museum of Modern Art, VH1,
The New York Times, Eleven Madison
Park, and Columbia University’s
Graduate School of Architecture,
Art, and Planning. She is also the
authordesigner of four books:
Oice Mayhem (Abrams), Paper
Pilot, Paper Captain, and Paper
Astronaut (Universe/Rizzoli). She
holds a B.Arch. from Virginia Tech
and an MFA in graphic design from
Yale University.
Sue Apfelbaum is an independent
Brooklyn-based writer, editor, and
content strategist whose primary
interests center on design, art, music,
and film. She is the former editorial
director for AIGA, the professional
association for design, and prior
to that was an editor for RES, a
bimonthly magazine for digital
creators. She writes about design
for Communication Arts, Surface,
Red Bull Music Academy, and Adobe,
and works on editorial and content
strategy for the website of the Jewish
Museum. Sue studied English and
anthropology at the University of
Vermont and user experience design
at General Assembly in New York.
