I once worked with a small e-learning company to create a learning management system (LMS) for a major airline, so that its enormous staff of tarmac workers could keep up on security and safety measures and learn new skills to advance their skill sets.
The vast majority of these workers lacked a college education, and this fact seemed to make the human resources folks believe that everything needed to be thoroughly explained to the workers. Although I found this mind-set rather condescending, I saw an opportunity to use it to my advantage when they came to me with a wireframe for the home page of the LMS.
