What Is the Background to the Research?
- The setting. In May 2008, we held our first network-to-network (N2N) meeting in Gualdo, Italy. This coalition of networks was represented earlier, as in Figure 13.1. At the 2008 meeting, there was a mixture of hubs and affiliates. The latter came for a variety of reasons. Some were thinking about becoming hubs based on their own intellectual property.
