Chapter 8
Engaging absolutely everyone in the SDGs
Without engagement and consequent action, a vision is just a dream. When we engage, people become inspired, they pull together and change happens. It is not sufficient to leave the delivery of the SDGs to world leaders – and the world is already working towards the goals, whatever our leaders do or say. However, the more we engage people of all ages, the greater our progress will be. In this chapter I reference some of the great work already being done through leaders, through the work of the United Nations, through organisations in all sectors, through communities and through the efforts of individuals. Everyone gets to participate in the greatest team event humanity has ever staged.
