Before learners register for a course, they may want to know about it. Why should I take it? What will it teach me? What does it require of me? What must I do to get ready for the course? Even learners who have begun the course may want to glance back at this information. Let's consider some of the pages you may need in order to fully inform learners about the course. Throughout this section, we will use the course Secrets of User-Seductive Documents for examples of the course framework elements.

4.2.1. Course Announcement page

The Course Announcement page is a concise overview of the course with links to more detailed information. It can take several forms and go by several names: About the Course, Course Catalog Entry, Course overview, Course Description, and Course identification. Here is an example of a simple course announcement:
