One of the most useful iPhone programs I’ve seen is a remarkably accurate weather forecast utility called Dark Sky.^[81] Unfortunately, the developers of that program have not ported it to Android. But what they have done is expose their forecast engine as a commercial web service. To help entice developers to incorporate this web service into programs for operating systems other than iOS, the developers offer up to 1,000 free method calls to their Forecast.io service.^[82] This is more than enough for our daily needs.
