How to Install a Driver
Drivers can be installed or updated by a number of different methods. Some methods are used largely for release installations, other methods are suitable only for test installations, and several methods can be used for either purpose.
Considerations for Test Installations
Test installations must be done repeatedly throughout the development cycle to test and debug new driver builds. Especially during the early part of the development cycle, test installation packages are often much more limited than the final release package:
A test package often has only those components that are essential to installing and running the driver.
