The successes of portable MP3 players and camera phones have proven the value of multimedia in mobile applications. Mobile users not only play back media contents on the go, but also share daily experiences via audio and video capturing. The J2ME Mobile Media API (MMAPI) enables multimedia applications on Java devices. It is supported on all Developer Platform 2.0 devices and many Developer Platform 1.0 devices.
