Chapter 5. Systems Management Tasks in Puppet
Puppet is useful for quickly deploying and configuring your critical applications. In this chapter, we investigate a multitier deployment that includes a web server, an application server, and a database server tier. Such combinations of applications are often referred to as LAMP (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP) deployments (The various letters in the acronym may change based on actual modules installed (for example, LEMP when nginx [pronounced “engine X”] is used instead of Apache).
