Rachel was doing her best as a single working mom. Widowed three years earlier, she was raising two teenage daughters. She recently came to the session with Hannah, her younger daughter.
Hannah had just started high school and was not doing well. Her grades had dropped, as had her self-confidence. Hannah was stressed because she was gaining weight and felt “ugly.” In addition, her boyfriend had just dropped her and losing him made her miss her dad all over again.
