It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Die politische Wende 1989 und die im Zuge der Wiedervereinigung verlassenen alten Liegenschaften rund um Berlin eröffneten mir einen unbegrenzten Fundus an Motiven der Vergänglichkeit.
Nach dreißig Jahren der Beschäftigung mit diesem Thema wurde ich natürlich oft gefragt, wann denn nun Schluss damit sei und ob ich nicht genug davon hätte. Die Antwort lautet eindeutig nein – aus zwei Gründen: Erstens ist Vergänglichkeit ein fließender, nie endender Prozess.
