Introduction
This chapter describes two typical digital asset management systems. It starts with a digital asset management system that was developed for a web site that makes historic newsreels available to the public. The other is a large archive project for a television news organization. These demonstrate the range that asset management covers. The first makes video content available online, and the second illustrates the improvements in operational efficiency when a video library is made available from the desktop throughout a corporation.
