The whole concept of elastic audio is a relatively recent idea, which has only been made possible (or practical at the very least) by recent huge advances in computer processing power. The ideas behind elastic audio are very basic and are really just an extension of the ideas that we have looked at in the last few chapters. In essence, elastic audio, in one sense at least, is another way of carrying out time-stretching.
