Key audio principles
Introduction
Although it is crucial that all of the fundamental concepts relating to digital audio are understood, to avoid redundancy, only those which most commonly apply to audio forensics will be discussed here. With that in mind, there will undoubtedly be areas in the science of audio which could be, and possibly are, exploited for use in audio forensics that will not be covered. The reader is, therefore encouraged to seek out further sources to assist in the advancement of knowledge beyond the fundamentals.
Many of the concepts are available in numerous other books, so only an overview will be given of each, in order not to stray too far from the focus of the book.
