7 Digital technicalities
This chapter is intended for those who want more details about the technical side of digital imaging technology. The information it contains is not essential to using the rest of the book, and as such it can safely be skipped by those who are interested only in what digital cameras can do, and not in how they do those things. For other readers, this section should help to make sense of some of the topics that are covered in less depth elsewhere. Even so it is only a light skate over some very complex issues.
