About the Authors
Dennis J. Derickson has been an assistant professor at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California, since September 2005. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota State University and the University of Wisconsin. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1992. From 1982 to 2000, he was a member of the technical staff and a project manager at Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies. He designed and managed RF/microwave, fiber-optic, and high-speed digital communications test and measurement equipment projects in the research and development organization.
