Abstract:
Disability is everywhere and therefore nowhere. Although present in popular culture, its function is rarely of benefit to those with impairments. However, social media do provide options for diverse communities and citizens to communicate, resist, challenge and create a consciousness through popular culture. This chapter explores the new uses of new media, with attention to YouTube and its comment function.
