Forensic Laboratory Accommodation

Abstract

This chapter looks at the issues related to the Forensic Laboratory accommodation. It examines the issues related to the selection of the building that will house the accommodation and describes the material that will need to be gathered for the business case that may be required to justify the expenditure on the infrastructure. It then looks at the standards that will need to be taken into account when designing the laboratory and goes on to address the protective measures that will need to be put in place to protect against external threats. It also addresses issues with the services and utilities, physical security, and the layout of the laboratory.
