Health and Safety Procedures
Abstract
This chapter deals with the health and safety issues that are relevant to the effective running of the laboratory. It deals with the planning process for health and safety, the legal, regulatory, and other requirements, and the risk assessment process and examines potential hazards. The chapter deals with the issue from planning to implementation to monitoring and audit and improving the system. The chapter looks at the health and safety controls that are implemented and the controls that are put in place. It also addresses the topic of the health and safety roles and responsibilities of personnel within the laboratory.
