Accreditation and Certification for a Forensic Laboratory

Abstract

This chapter looks at issues related to the Accreditation and Certification of the Laboratory. It examines the whole process of Accreditation and Certification that the Laboratory will need to be aware of if it is to attempt to gain or maintain Accreditation or Certification from the selection of the type of Accreditation or Certification to the selection of Accreditation or Certification Body to the process of self-assessment and then the inspection visits. It also looks at the relevant standards that may affect the Laboratory and the typical conditions of an Accreditation.
