Now that we have covered some of the low-level 2D vector illustration concepts, including vertices, straight lines, and Bézier curves that can connect these vertices together, as well as the algorithmically generated circles, ellipses, and arcs, we can take a look at some other shape generation tools that are supported in Inkscape. We will also take a look at the Inkscape user interface in greater detail during the first part of this chapter, since it is something that we need to cover before we get too far into the book.
