Karin Becker is Professor Emerita in Media Studies at Stockholm University, and draws on a background in journalism, sociology and visual anthropology. Her research explores cultural histories and contemporary contexts of visual media practices – in the press, museum collections, private settings and, most recently, in public space. She is editor of ‘Visual Frictions’, a special issue of Journal of Aesthetics and Culture (2015), compiled from the Nordic Network of Digital Visuality, which she directed.
