Abstract

Digital twin has come into limelight in the recent past. It is a powerful technology, which got notability in the recent past. Even though it came into limelight recently, its existence is dated back to 1960s. It is making its place in different areas now. It can be used at many places in different sectors or areas. It is all set to achieve more notability and reach great heights. It can be truly beneficial in usage for many different sectors or areas. This is a great factor. In this chapter, digital twin is introduced. Along with introducing digital twin, its history and its concept is also explained.

2.1 Introduction

The advent of advanced, innovative and complex engineered systems has established new technologies that are far more superior and perform well even in harsh environments [19].
