Abstract

Digital twin is swiftly making its way into numerous applications. It is evolving at a fast pace. Any technology is basically used to simplify things, ease out work, provide as many as possible advantages, etc. In short, each technology works towards helping in the application where it is applied. Digital twin technology also does the same. When applied in development of smart cities, it works towards helping in fulfillment of it. It has the capabilities and proficiency through which it can benefit in the work of developing smart cities. In this book chapter, the application of digital twin in smart cities is discussed. How the digital twin can help in smart cities development in different ways is stated in this chapter. Along with it, its benefits are also discussed.
