Chapter Fourteen. Stereoscopic 3D and 2D to 3D Conversion VFX
Many artists, and even some teachers, guard their chosen art by creating an artificial, seemingly impenetrable air of complexity around it. The worlds of motion pictures, VFX, and particularly stereoscopic 3D seems susceptible to this type of scarcity-mentality obfuscation. I believe that although, indeed, every art or science at its highest level is rife with technical complexity, any concept can be distilled down to its (easily understandable) essence and can be easily communicated to anyone eager to learn.
