arrow Putting your portfolio on the web

When my husband and I were planning our wedding, one of the first things I did after we announced our engagement was to sit down at my computer and scour the Internet for a wedding photographer. On every photographer’s website I found, I searched for a gallery of wedding and portrait images to see how good the photos looked. I immediately passed over some unfortunate photographers because they had very weak portfolios with images that weren’t very appealing.

Establishing a solid portfolio is crucial for any photographer trying to bring in business. In this chapter, I cover the reasons you need a portfolio along with different ways you can build one before you start shooting weddings on your own. I also go over how you can put your portfolio online to be seen by potential clients.
