Give Good Direction during Group Photos

The group photos can definitely be the craziest part of the wedding day for the photographer. To make it a little easier for everyone, be sure to give very clear directions of exactly what you want the group to do. Otherwise you may have the family standing awkwardly around the bride and groom, looking around while wondering whether to smile and where to put their hands. As you arrange each grouping, spell out where you want each person to stand, which direction you want him to face, what to do with his hands, and so on. Keep in mind that these people probably aren’t photographers, so they are relying on you to tell them, kindly but firmly, what to do to make them look great.
