At family gatherings, church activities or at a party the dreaded question arises after I tell a stranger what I do for a living. “An Animation Director? How do you direct a cartoon?” The alchemy of how animation is made is such a mystery to people outside the entertainment industry that they cannot fathom why an animated project would even require direction.
