It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Postproduction is the extremely creative phase in documentary-making during which you transform the sound and picture dailies, along with any graphics, text, captions, photographs, or animation, into a stream of consciousness for consumption by an audience. Editing a documentary is normally a long, experimental procedure, and represents your second chance to direct. The major challenge usually lies in finding a strong, logical narrative structure.
