Chapter 3. Using Your Reason
Once the emotions are out of the way, the next step in dealing with a conflict is using your reason to understand the basis for the conflict, including unstated positions and agendas. Then, using your reason to understand the different conflict resolution styles, you can choose which one or combination of styles would be most appropriate for dealing with this particular conflict. I’ll discuss these topics more extensively in Section Three. Here I want to introduce the basic components of the reason component of the E-R-I conflict resolution model.
