Chapter 8. Overcoming Conflicts Through Better Communication
Communication, the key to resolving most conflicts, is itself often the cause of conflict. Any breakdown of communication can lead to conflict. Sometimes one or both parties aren’t clear. Sometimes one or both parties aren’t listening. Often there are misunderstandings about meanings. Hidden assumptions can stand in the way. And sometimes lack of communication itself results in misunderstandings that lead to hostility or resentment.
But you can harness the power of communication to break these blocks. A little knowledge and practice will help you send out an appropriate message that is accurately heard and returned. Just keep in mind the basic principles of communication.
