Chapter 11. Negotiating Win-Win Solutions
Once you decide a conflict is worth resolving without avoiding it (avoidance), giving in to what someone else wants (accommodating), or forcing through your own resolution because you have the power (confrontation), you are left with a problem to work out through negotiation. You have to find the common ground between your desired solution and that of the other party.
The two ways of negotiating are through compromise or collaboration. These two approaches are similar in that they both involve back-and-forth give-and-take in working towards a solution that gives everyone some of what he or she wants.
