Chapter 12. Case Study: Inception Phase

To better understand how to successfully initiate a Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) project we’re going to work through a fictitious case study—the AgileGrocers1 Point of Sale (PoS) system. This case study is based on a similar project Mark was involved with although the names and details have been changed to protect everyone’s privacy. The focus of this chapter is the Inception phase for the PoS system; later chapters explore the rest of the project in detail. Note that this is only one potential way to initiate a DAD project—tailor your approach to reflect the realities of your situation.
