Capability

‘Capability is the ability to do things and to choose for a way of life according to one’s values.

As it applies to human capital, capability represents performing or achieving certain actions/outcomes in terms of the intersection of capacity and ability.’

I like the first part of this description of capability most because it helps challenge us to define capability as a choice and a way of life, plus it also links it directly to our values.

Capability helps us to determine our internal permissions and limitations; it describes what we know and what we can or can’t do. It incorporates our personal blueprint in defining us as unique individuals by demonstrating what we can do, as well as how we are most likely to do it.
