Project 2

Objective
To provide an even sculptural illumination for an acting area.
Setting
A neutral surround of black masking is desirable (Figure P.4).
Rig
A grid of 15 spotlights is arranged in a slightly different configuration to that of Project 1. The project should commence with simple PC or Fresnel spots fitted with barndoors. Once the problem has been solved, or at least is on the way to being solved, profiles may (and should) be substituted.
Contraction and expansion
Expansion of the rig is not recommended for this project, but if the number of lights has to be reduced because of lack of equipment, this may be done by removing 2 and 5 from bar 3, then 1 and 3 from bar 4.
