Light as language

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Objective

To explore the possibilities of light as pure visual language, rather than as a means by which people and objects are revealed, concealed and enhanced.

Setting

Using a found space and the minimum of objects (if possible, using only objects already present in the space) devise a sequence of light pictures. The sequence may be based on an unspoken narrative or be completely abstract. There are no actors and the only sounds are the movements of the audience. A trace, just a trace, of smoke may be used.

Rig

Any found space may be used. A lighting grid is not essential. Lights may be positioned by any safe methods including conventional stands and devised structures. Any source may be used: ...
