Actively Managing and Redirecting Projects

At this point in the development of your project, you will have built a base business case from which you will be deriving your plan to learn. In this chapter, we’ll take you through the last tool that you’ll be working with in setting up the plan: the checkpoint review chart. We’ll also show you how the assumption checklist from chapter 6 and the checkpoint review chart work together as your plan goes forward. The power of discovery-driven planning, however, does not lie in the plan documents. It lies in the way you use them to engage every member of your team—and other knowledgeable people—to learn their way to the true growth opportunity or to avoid painful missteps early on.
