The Myth of Free Trade

Despite the fact that most economists and many politicians love free trade, it has turned out to be unfair trade, and over the long term, I think it will be hard on corporations and the American economy. Free trade has been very hard on workers, manufacturers, suppliers, and industries and has inflicted pain on the weakest members of society, and the benefits have accrued primarily to the affluent and MNCs. Free trade has become a one-sided process where the benefits would flow to capital and the costs to labor. It is socialism for capital and free market for labor. For working Americans, it has become a race to the bottom.
