Current Distributed Renewable Energy Rural and Urban Communities

This chapter reproduces some selected implemented and planned renewable energy communities: rural, remote and urban. It should be pointed out that many more communities have been established across the continents.

14.1 Rural Community Jühnde

The community project Jühnde (Figure 14.1) was inspired by the IEC concept and other institutions. The village of Jühnde (750 inhabitants) is located in Southern Lower Saxony in the middle of Germany.
