STEP ONE: POSITIONING IS AN ART FORM
One of the most common mistakes beginners make when it comes to creating a compelling personal brand is to look at people who are 5 to 15 years into building their brand and try to replicate how these people position themselves. It almost always fails. Why? Because it took years upon years to achieve name brand recognition, gain trust from the community, and command respect from just their name. To position yourself as a guru or influencer, you have to earn that authority, and it is something that takes positioning, relationship building, and most importantly time; it doesn’t happen overnight.
