Make All Training Inclusive, From Design to Implementation
Imagine you are participating in a communication skills training at your organization along with a diverse cross-section of co-workers. The instructor posts the slides on the screen. The image on the first slide shows a White man with salt-and-pepper hair in a gray suit standing and smiling down at a young White woman sitting in front of a computer as he hands her papers. The next several slides show a series of images of people in Western business attire smiling, talking, shaking hands, or giving high fives.
The instructor reads several quotes from famous authors and thought leaders. You notice all the quotes are from White American or British men.
